Montgomery (Monty), is a bright-eyed, bushy-tailed, Wheaten Scottie who resides with his Afterglow family, Randy & Tracy Krapf, and pals, a Terrier Mix, Lollipop, and Afterglow's
Fenella (Nella).   Monty loves his new friends very much and they love him too!

Monty quickly showed how incredibly smart he was and just days after coming home began to learn to ring jingle bells when it was time for him to go potty outside.  He started his AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy training in January of 2022, at the tender age of four months, and showed he was a very fast learner and also one of the smallest in his puppy class!   On February 24, 2022 he graduated as an AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy AND AKC Trick Dog Novice (TKN)! and was awarded certificates for his completion in both.  In March 2022, Monty and his handler, Tracy, were inducted into the Allentown Dog Training Club.  All of this is no surprise to us as his mother, Teagan the Queen at Afterglow is "Whip-smart" and incredibly engaged and playful. Monty's sire, is CH Afterglow's An Ace Up The Sleeve is a well-mannered gentleman in every sense. In September 2022 he earned his AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) award as well! He and Tracy continue to rack up letters after his name with an AKC BCAT FastCAT title earned in May 2023. Monty held on through 2023 as the #7 Scottish Terrier in the country as of June 2024 he earned
his AKC DCAT FastCAT in May 2024 and is the #7 spot again!

In February 2023, Monty and Tracy became a therapy dog team specializing in therapy for drug and alcohol recovery patients and elderly patients and have now earned an AKC Therapy Dog (TDNA) title as well. Monty was welcomed into the hospital volunteer program as a Therapy
Dog and more recently in February 2024, Monty became one of the newest Therapy Dogs at
Lehigh Valley International Airport in their C.O.P.E. Program (Canines Offering Passenger
Encouragement). Monty adores children and is often requested at local schools and libraries for
their “Children reading to Dogs” Program targeting special needs children and children needing
more confidence when reading.

Then, Monty decided to take a swing at Obedience titles and earned his Beginner's Novice (BN) Title in 2023. Since he had some free time, he also earned a Rally Intermediate (RI) title in obstacle course work! In January 2024 he added CGCA (Community Canine Good Citizen), the advanced level of the AKC’s Canine Good Citizen Program. In June he upped his Rally game to Rally Advanced (RA)!

We would not be surprised if he earns Ph.D., J.D., and DVM degrees from Harvard! (Tracy, is it true he has a private pilot's license?) 

A true overachiever, Monty is working towards his CD (Companion Dog) title, and he is training for Agility and Scent Work!

In his spare time, Monty loves to chase leaves, fetch and eat sticks and chase tennis balls (he gets that from his mother).   His "zoomies" routine is an integral part of his daily activities as well and keeps Randy and Tracy laughing. Tracy has every reason to claim that she is a "proud mama".
